After talking with a few people, I decided to update the maps to reflect their presidential vote in 2004. So, the maps now show the worst states for any given problem in red and blue. Check them out. It didn't take much effort, many of the maps don't even have a single blue state, or if they do, it's just one, usually Delaware.
