The EFF brings us news that the RIAA considers burning CDs to your computer/iPod etc
to be a potential violation of copyright. In other words, where we used to be able to make mix tapes, and transfer music from one medium to another legally under "fair use" now the RIAA is trying to say that we should have to pay for every format individually if they change their minds about what fair use is.
This could mean that in the future they will install DRM on CDs and Mp3s so you would have to buy a CD to play in your car/stereo, and seperately buy an mp3 to play on your iPod/computer.
I say, fuck these people. You should too.

I say: who the fuck cares about what the RIAA wants? Let Sony, BMG, etc. put whatever they want on their CDs. When was the last time you actually bought something from one of their acts? I'd be willing to bet that Matador, Sub Pop, Asthmatic Kitty, et al. won't bother with any of this. Let the crap-vendors twiddle their way into obsolescence.

That sounds like a give up theory for music!
I love it. Who cares about their regressive anti-consumer policies? It will only be taken out on the schmucks who buy their Britney Spears crap. They deserve what they get!
Yes! Thank you AAP, I somehow forgot to give up there for a minute, what a fool I was.

Here's a list of the titles involved in the Sony fiasco. How many of them do you (or would you) have in your collection?
Maybe the Billie Holiday, but that's about it.
