You liberals truly are a bunch of stupid fuckwits... The men in the picture(who have done more honorable service and sacrifice for their country than you perpetual whiners ever will) are following the CORRECT procedure for RESPECTFULLY retiring/disposing of a U.S. flag that has become too worn and frayed to use anymore. If it is possible for you to get your noses out of your copy of The Communist Manifesto and your tongues out of Ted Kennedy's asshole, you might notice that the Honorable veteran in the background is standing at Present Arms, which is the rifle-armed version of saluting with you hand. Also notice, (after wiping Jesse Jackson's semen out of your eyes) that the flag is being held up respectfully so it won't touch the ground.
It is absolutely morally reprehensible(and thus oh-so-typically Liberal) to see this pic being used to try to depict something that it is not. These veterans bought the gift of freedom with their blood. They understand what the true price and privilege of freedom is. They honor the sacrifice of those who gave up all of their tomorrows to keep America free by treating the symbol of that sacrifice with the respect it deserves. Unfortunately, that very same freedom is what allows left-wing nut cases to spout off their particular form of lunacy, and work to destroy the very freedom that allows them to do so.....pathetic.
That is hysterical. Some people don't get irony in writing.
We weren't making fun of the vets dumbass, it was just a great picture of flag burning for a legitimate reason!
We actually totally agree with eachother! Chill out! Except maybe over the amendment.
To clarify for those who clearly don't get it. This is a picture of flag burning. I find it funny that such a muck is made over flag burning when that is the proper way to destroy them. People do not burn flags in this country to protest anymore, it happened, yes, but when was the last time it happened? And when was it anything but some random idiot? People burn flags to protest our country abroad a lot, but not here. You just don't see it.
So the point was, the only people the flag-burning amendment would probably affect would be people like this; vets carefully disposing of old flags.
People don't burn flags anymore? Are you speaking for everyone in the United States or just for yourself? Because being a military wife, I have seen tons of protest where people fly our flag upside down, light the flag on fire and protest military funerals....
Yes, protesters at our funerals when we lay to rest our dead, but I suppose a law stopping them from doing it would take away the freedom we respect, because god forbid anyone have the right to peacefully morn and burry their dead.
Lastly the amendment clearly states that the flag can not be burned in protest… So your picture here means absolutely nothing…. posting up a picture of guys who fought for your freedom and sacrificed doing a very just and honorable thing, twisting it around, because you lack the understanding to know the true meaning behind the amendment you are against is tacky, disgraceful and disrespectful to those vets.
i'd like to point out that "military wife" is a LIAR when she says she has seen people burning the flag. further... hanging the flag upside down is a legitimate message to indicate "This Country IS In Crisis"
Just to clarify...the people who protest military funerals are the ultra right-wing homophobic members of Fred Phelps' church. They do not represent the anti-war movement.

Disgraceful to vets.
That's great. What about this post makes you think I'm mocking the vets?
The greater irony is that I got the image from the defeatists.
And the guys who run the defeatists? Um, military guys...so, yeah, get over it.
Until I see actual evidence that flag burning has

oops got trimmed.
Until I see actual pictures of Americans burning flags in protest I won't believe it happens. I've been to plenty of major protests and never seen it.
The guys at the funerals? Crazy baptists, not liberals.
Where is this flag burning happening? And it has to be more than, "I saw it, I mean my cousin did...actually his friend's sister..."
