The administration does one good thing though, so does Lieberman oddly
Well, it goes to show even Republicans like Bush and Lieberman can't do the wrong thing all the time, the Bush administration has announced they will obey the Geneva conventions in Guantanamo bay. It only took years of denunciations from civil rights activists, the world community and finally a rejection of their policies by the Supreme Court to bring it around.

Lieberman is also on the right (by which I mean correct) side of an issue for once. PLoS reports that Republicans Joe Lieberman and John Cornyn are pushing the Federal Research Public Access Act of 2006 which would force publicly funded research to be made public one year after being accepted.

I am all for public access to scientific information. As the article points out, there is no evidence it harms subscription revenue, and at the same time allows the public to view the research that they paid for.
